Nominations are due by December 15, 2008. The award will be presented at the YWCA on Thursday, January 15 at 6 p.m. Winners must be in present on at the YWCA event on January 15 to receive the scholarship.
This award has been created to recognize and encourage youth to take action, whether it is to bring awareness to themselves or others, to have an impact on their communities, or to promote progress in creating an environment where all differences among individuals are respected and celebrated. Diversity is an integral part of a rich and strong community that enhances the quality of life for all. Eliminating racism is one of the primary missions of the YWCA.

YWCA calls for nominations for Racial Justice Scholarships for two high school seniors
The YWCA of Greenwich is pleased to announce the call for candidates for its sixth annual Racial Justice Scholarship. Candidates may be nominated by a member of the faculty of any Greenwich high school or by the general public. A $500 scholarship will be given to each of two high school seniors who live in and attend a Greenwich school, and who have demonstrated special effort to encourage people to respect differences, to promote equality and to eliminate all forms of bigotry, bias and racism in their school or our community.
