VivaPop and Miller Motorcars are excited to again bring the ALL-AMERICAN Soap Box Derby to Greenwich for a unique community and family event.
The 2009 VivaPop All-American Soap Box Derby Presented by Miller Motorcars to Benefit the United Way of Greenwich features twenty-eight Super Stock cars and two Super Kid cars racing down Greenwich Avenue on Sunday, September 13, 2009. The first VivaPop All-American Soap Box Derby generated great enthusiasm within the Greenwich community and tremendous exposure for the United Way of Greenwich and the Derby Sponsors. We expect 2009 with the introduction of the Super Kid car class to be an even greater success for everyone involved!
No United Way Agency pays for a car. Corporate sponsors pay for the 28 cars in the Super Stock division and the 2 cars in the Super Kids division. Derby Race Cars will be on display in Greenwich at various locations to generate interest starting Spring 2009. Drivers are either selected by the Local Race Director or the Local Race Director will ask the United Way Agency team to select its driver.
The race is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2009.
The race site is Greenwich Avenue, starting at 7:00am.
