These music performances at Bydale - the historic home of Joan Warburg - bring the community together to help raise awareness of one of the most encouraging initiatives undertaken by Family Re-Entry and that is to create positive role models and proud contributing members for our society who might otherwise not been offered that chance.

Please help your neighbors, join Family Re-Entry and help them reach their fundraising goal this year.

Ron Rosa (Polpo), Laura Gillis (Gaia) and Mark Mantione (Solaia) Saturday Night

VivaPop Restaurants
Greenwich, CT
203-661-0555
Events

Even on May 19th, a rainy cool night, Greenwich residents packed their favorite restaurants to enjoy great food and company. Vivapop.com was there to take in all the excitement that Saturday night, and even though Barcelona and L’Escale were closed to the public for private parties, we found three incredible spots where you can enjoy Greenwich's excellent cuisine.

Watch Vivapop_Polpo, Gaia, Solaia_Greenwich CT video with your media player.

Our first stop was Polpo. Polpo was thick with regulars that could not be happier. Owner Ron Rosa was proud to escort us through this lovely cozy restaurant where we saw nothing but warm beautiful people like Arthur and Vivian Kern dining with old friends. Jessica Antico and Liz Dottanvio were enjoying the sounds of a smooth trio in the piano bar. Situated in a turn-of-the-century cottage, this charming restaurant has several interior rooms, a porch, and patio for dining. Where can you feel the deep pulse of an upright bass on a rainy Saturday night?…..Polpo. Open seven days a week, Sunday brunch.

Greenwich Avenue has amazing restaurants that always put you in the mood for a relaxing night out. The aromas from the kitchen of Gaia were magical. Gaia has some of the most interesting architecture and decor on the avenue. Manager Laura Gillis took our camera on a dream fantasy tour through the first floor that included a cozy cocktail lounge perfect for people watching. Isame came with friends from New Jersey for dinner after an Obama fundraiser in town. Plans to add late night fun at Gaia are in the works, so we will be VivaPopping to Gaia again. Late night Solaia is the spot for intimate wine and conversation. Always full of amazing people that want to meet others. Owners Mark Mantione and Corkey Viscardi were in the crowd enjoying the vibe and a good glass of wine. Located on the “AVE”, Solaria has it all, great food, wine, and company and their bartender, Joe Rock, can always squeeze you in at the bar.

Community
Greenwich, CT

Events

Sean Tierney is CEO, JumpBox, host Grid7, author Moonbeam "What If for Kids", and social blogger. About Jumpbox, Sean writes "It’s not every day you get the privilege to announce the birth a new technology that alters the rules of an industry. I present to you JumpBox, the easiest way to deploy complex server applications. Essentially, we’ve done the tedious part of laying all the plumbing and foundational work so you can deploy any non-windows-based server application on any of the three major virtualization platforms (Xen, VMware and Parallels) in a single file." Read more about Jumpbox on his blog.

As Grid7host, Sean interviewed Lon Safko and asked him how he played the instrumental role in founding the now $5.3BN assistive speech technology industry. "Lon shared his view of innovation and stories on the inception of this technology which began in 1984. Many of Lon’s inventions were the archetypes to what we now know of as the Dragon Naturally Speaking product, the original Newton (pda) O.S., “Tool Tips“, X-10 Powerhouse, and Microsoft’s Bob O.S.

Lon Safko joins the greats (Darwin, Wyeth, Edison) as the newest inductee of the Smithsonian Institution’s permanent collection with eighteen of his inventions. His Apple II computer is on display at Apple HQ as being the first Apple to truly save a human life in honor of his amazing invention that restored the will to live for a C3 quadriplegic.

From paper models to garden hoses to AI and now the Smithsonian, Lon has had an amazing career. He believes that anyone can train his/her mind to see opportunities and deficiencies in the world and learn innovation using what he calls “The Three C’s.” Listen to his amazing interview (35min - 41MB) on the latest episode of the Grid7 Venturecast series."

Join us Monday April 23, 2007, @12:30pm and hear Sean Tierney Live!
