Greenwich, CT
203-625-0930
Dance

<p align "center">
Greenwich Connecticut's Dance Adventure Succeeds with Young Dancers

Dance Adventure has been the learning center and dance studio of choice for thousands of families since the dance school was founded in 1991 in Greenwich by Director, Nola Van Alstine. An accomplished performer and award winning teacher of young students, her philosophy combines technique with imagination and fun. The classes offer personalized attention with high student/teacher ratios.

"My daughter has wanted to return year after year. I am so proud of her commitment and progress, and I feel we owe it to Dance Adventure for steering her in the right direction at each level!"
- A Miller

Parent & Child Classes -Ages 6 mos. to 2 1/2 years

Dance classes with live piano accompaniment, props, songs and movement games at our Greenwich, CT dance studios. Nola Van Alstine's original curriculum for these classes is structured by age, and takes into account the rapid growth of babies through toddlers up to young 3 year olds. The early childhood development of these younger students are reflected in the materials used and in the changing parent participation as their child becomes more independent and confident in joining movement with music, imaginative play and drama.

Pre-Ballet, Early Tap and Jazz -Ages 3 years. to 6 years (Kindergarten)

Learning dance technique and having fun at the same time keeps a students interested in performing high. Dance Adventure classes at these tender ages both encourages the student and nurtures a genuine interest and appreciation of dancing. Bringing a control of accuracy in motion, combined with beauty is expressed in our student's improvisations and enactment of small dance pieces throughout the year. Stories, props, live piano accompaniment and improvisation help develop musicality and confidence in every class, and add an exciting dimension to the student's experience.

Once a child reacher Kindergarten age, additional participation in Jazz and Tap classes are recommended to expand a student's horizons. All Kindergarten classes participate in the end of year staged performance at the Palace Theater in Stamford, Connecticut which has proven to be a rich and memorable experience for children and their families alike!

Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop Classes -Ages 6 years (1st grade) to Teens

Ballet becomes a focus of the serious student at this age, and physical motion becomes more advance. Building on earlier lessons in dance, the student learns to combine moves and positions into beautiful expressions of dance. At Dance Adventure, we never lose sight of combining hard work with a sense of fun and imagination to keep young minds alert and focused.

Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop classes dance to popular music young students love from traditional Broadway through MTV styles. These classes taught by master teacher, Judith Clack, open up new worlds of motion and exercise. Concentrating on physical fitness and combinations of action-based moves result in exciting dances which are both fun to watch and perform at home and on stage.

Many students in the upper age groups prefer to advance through private instruction, and individual lessons can be arranged for the most serious dancers.

Students in these upper age groups all perform in a spectacular end of year Spring Recital at the Palace Theater in Stamford Connecticut each June.
