There were 120 golfers sponsoring the Near &amp;amp; Far Aid mission of finding and funding of programs which address the causes and effects of poverty including: lack of education, homelessness, hunger, domestic abuse, substance abuse, mental illnes and disability, teen pregnancy, crime, psycho-social issues, availability of health care, access to information and select other categories.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In addition to the Title Sponsor, RBS Greenwich Capital, the presenting sponsors included TOMRA and First Brokers Securities. Perkins Fund Marketing sponsored the Cocktail Party. Jeffrey Earls kept our auction lively and raised a record-breaking amount of funds for the After School programs in Bridgeport. Porsche of Fairfield, the primary car sponsor, &amp;nbsp;donated a 2-week lease for a Porsche Cayman for the golfer who was closest to the pin on Hole 17. A Porsche 911 was the prize for a Hole in One on Hole 11th. Unfortunately, there were no winners in this category. Land Rover of Milford, the Presenting Car Sponsor, donated a 2-week for a Land Rover which will be used to drive the auction winners of a Fighter Pilot for a day to the airport.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Southport, CT&lt;br/&gt;203-310-2311&lt;br/&gt;Events&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;p&gt;A snapshot of the Real Estate Market in Fairfield shows consistent sales volume. We have seen a 25%&amp;nbsp;increase in the total number of housing units sold to date (September 15th) and a 33% increase in the dollar volume of homes sold. The differential between the list price and the sold price remains steady at 97%. How can that be when it really seems that buyers are getting really good &amp;quot;deals&amp;quot; on homes? The reality is that buyers are waiting for the sellers to drop the price before they make an offer. When the seller&amp;#39;s price gets within&amp;nbsp;a 10% range of what the buyer thinks the home is worth, the buyer will start bidding. In some cases, multiple offers are coming in. Pricing&amp;nbsp;a home accurately is the single most effective tool in selling&amp;nbsp;a home.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;What does the future of the real estate market look like? We watch the number of homes with binders (agreed upon sale price but finalizing inspection) and the number of homes under contract. This snapshot of the market shows only 26 homes with a binder or agreed upon deal compared to 2006 when there were over 60 outstanding binders. The number of homes under contract is only 60 down from over 100 last year. These numbers indicate a slower fall real estate market.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
