The annual Professional Audition Workshop is for prospective apprentices, corps de ballet and soloist dancers, providing a unique perspective on career advancement into professional ranks. The workshop will feature technique and repertory classes with guest faculty and nuts and bolts seminars with company artistic personel. Artistic Director Brett Raphael will observe participants in rigorous classes and rehearsals. Broaden your range and readiness while auditioning for contracts beginning August 2007.

Connecticut Ballet was founded in 1981 by choreographers Brett Raphael and Luk de Layress. Its official debut took place (under the company's former title, Ballet Today) at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Shortly thereafter, the company made its Connecticut debut at the Stamford Center for the Arts, where it became a resident performing company in 1986.

The only year-round professional ballet company in the state of Connecticut, the company has performed throughout New England in addition to special appearances at the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival, New York's Riverside Dance Festival, Cape Cod Performing Arts Festival, Harbourfront Festival in Toronto, Grand Central Station in New York City, Goat Island Dance Festival in Newport, Rhode Island, and many other venues.

The Company

Connecticut Ballet was founded in 1981 by choreographers Brett Raphael and Luk de Layress. Its official debut took place (under the company's former title, Ballet Today) at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. Shortly thereafter, the company made its Connecticut debut at the Stamford Center for the Arts, where it became a resident performing company in 1986. The 2006-2007 season marks the company's 25th anniversary year and was begun in festive fashion with the premiere of a new full-length 'Cinderella' in October 2006. The spring season in 2007 will feature a 'Tribute to Broadway' season at Stamford Center for the Arts.
