Dining Out Saturday Night? Some Suggestions...

Greenwich, CT
203-000-0000
Events

If you are wondering where to eat this Saturday, may we suggest Barcelona, Baang and L'Escale. Barcelona often has the perfect mix of couples, singles, and friends all enjoying Barcelona's food, drink and fun atmosphere. Managers Chip Ferrarese and Grecia Arujo stay busy greeting guests and ensuring people get seated promptly. Barcelona chef Santos turns out amazing dish after dish, while the professional wait staff keep the food moving. Bartenders Dre and Shawn appear to be great entertainers. A few Saturdays ago Barcelona's bar was over flowing, and the dining room was full. That night, Heather Cotter and Kane Geyer looked content and intimate surrounded by the crowd celebrating a special occasion. Paul and Erin Parsen were out with their friends Jeff and Leslie Mendell enjoying their favorites, a good glass of wine and some hot music with DJ Kunjan. Rich Rafial joined the crowd after stopping off at another Greenwich favorite, Baang.

Baang with its exposed kitchen offers a great atmosphere, nice crowd and good music. Bartenders Brett Portier and Lori Brown keep their customers happy while Baang manager John Egan keeps everything running smoothly. Baang chef David Seta's crispy spinach is a must have. A few Saturday's ago, Esteff Defelici was in the mood for delicious food, fun company and the ideal setting…he chose Baang.

L'Escale offers patio dining in the summertime, for one of the only on-the-water dining experiences in Greenwich. The menu is set up for a three course meal so the appetizers and following courses are well-proportioned to give you a great sampling of tastes. Consider L'Escale for a more formal, quiet dining experience.

Greenwich, CT
203-000-0000
Events

The weekend of June 8th we explored three more restaurants in town, Barcelona, Bang, and L'Escale, each one with a unique atmosphere. On Friday night, Barcelona and Bang were either already packed or just starting to fill up. Sunday evening at L'Escale was spectacular during the magic hour, wonderful setting, fine dining and a happening event all going on on the patio there.

Ron Rosa (Polpo), Laura Gillis (Gaia) and Mark Mantione (Solaia) Saturday Night

Greenwich, CT
203-661-0555
Events

Even on May 19th, a rainy cool night, Greenwich residents packed their favorite restaurants to enjoy great food and company. Vivapop.com was there to take in all the excitement that Saturday night, and even though Barcelona and L’Escale were closed to the public for private parties, we found three incredible spots where you can enjoy Greenwich's excellent cuisine.

Watch Vivapop_Polpo, Gaia, Solaia_Greenwich CT video with your media player.

Our first stop was Polpo. Polpo was thick with regulars that could not be happier. Owner Ron Rosa was proud to escort us through this lovely cozy restaurant where we saw nothing but warm beautiful people like Arthur and Vivian Kern dining with old friends. Jessica Antico and Liz Dottanvio were enjoying the sounds of a smooth trio in the piano bar. Situated in a turn-of-the-century cottage, this charming restaurant has several interior rooms, a porch, and patio for dining. Where can you feel the deep pulse of an upright bass on a rainy Saturday night?…..Polpo. Open seven days a week, Sunday brunch.

Greenwich Avenue has amazing restaurants that always put you in the mood for a relaxing night out. The aromas from the kitchen of Gaia were magical. Gaia has some of the most interesting architecture and decor on the avenue. Manager Laura Gillis took our camera on a dream fantasy tour through the first floor that included a cozy cocktail lounge perfect for people watching. Isame came with friends from New Jersey for dinner after an Obama fundraiser in town. Plans to add late night fun at Gaia are in the works, so we will be VivaPopping to Gaia again. Late night Solaia is the spot for intimate wine and conversation. Always full of amazing people that want to meet others. Owners Mark Mantione and Corkey Viscardi were in the crowd enjoying the vibe and a good glass of wine. Located on the “AVE”, Solaria has it all, great food, wine, and company and their bartender, Joe Rock, can always squeeze you in at the bar.
